WorkAxle powers enterprises with complex, distributed workforces — scheduling, time & attendance, labor optimization, and compliance at scale. Our customers run in industries where a missed shift is a regulatory violation, an understaffed floor, or a broken operation. The problems are genuinely hard, the domain is deep, and we're assembling a team of builders who want to create something that matters.
We're looking for a Full-Stack Product Engineer whose mastery lives in the frontend — React and TypeScript are where your instincts are sharpest — but who ships features end-to-end without waiting for someone else to pick up the other half. Data model to pixel-perfect UI, you own the whole thing.
This isn't a ticket-taker role. You'll shape what we build, design how it works, and deliver it — all of it.
Our stackWhere you're strongest: React, TypeScript, GraphQL with Apollo.Where you're effective: NestJS, Ruby on Rails, Java, gRPC/Protobuf, RabbitMQ. Microservice architecture throughout.
You're a full-stack engineer — comfortable navigating a NestJS service, a Rails API, or a message queue — but the frontend is where your judgment is sharpest and your standards are highest.
What you'll doShape the product, not just build it. You connect the dots between what users need and how the system should work. You frame the interaction pattern, the component architecture, the API contract — and make recommendations that marry product vision with technical excellence. You don't wait for a spec. You help write it.
Build across the entire surface. A single feature might touch a NestJS service, a RabbitMQ pipeline, a GraphQL resolver, and a React interface. You move through all of these with confidence, making decisions that hold together as a coherent whole.
Set the bar on the frontend. React and TypeScript are where you have the deepest craft. You care about state management, rendering performance, and design systems — not because someone told you to, but because you've seen what happens when nobody does. Your frontend work is the reference standard for the team.
Harness AI as your superpower. You're fluent with Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools, and you use them the way a master craftsman uses power tools — to amplify your skill, not substitute for it. You direct the output, review it critically, and own every line that ships.
Go deep on a domain that matters. Workforce management is regulation-heavy with real operational consequences for millions of workers. You'll develop genuine expertise in scheduling, labor rules, and compliance — and that domain knowledge will make you a dramatically better engineer and product thinker.
You might be a great fit if- You have 3+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience with demonstrable outstanding results.
- React and TypeScript are second nature. You have strong opinions about component architecture, state management, and performance — backed by experience, not blog posts.
- You've built and shipped across the full stack — backend services, APIs, data models — not just the UI layer. You don't need a backend engineer to unblock you.
- You have product sense that goes beyond requirements. You ask "who is this for?" and "what happens when this breaks at 3 AM?" before you write a line of code.
- You think big and ship small — you architect for scale but execute in deliberate chunks, keeping value flowing to production continuously.
- You've thrived in a rapidly growing SaaS environment where things move fast, priorities shift, and you make smart tradeoffs between speed and durability every day.
- Experience with our specific stack: GraphQL/Apollo, NestJS, Ruby on Rails, Java, gRPC/Protobuf, RabbitMQ.
- Background in workforce management, HCM, payroll, or adjacent enterprise domains.
- Experience building or scaling microservice architectures.
- Open-source contributions or a visible track record of building things people use.
- A seat at the table — not a slot in a feature factory. You'll work directly with leadership to shape what we build and how we build it. Small teams. High ownership. Meaningful problems. Modern tooling.oducts is an advantage
