A Junior Data Scientist is sought for one of our client organizations in Canada. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates and early-career professionals looking to build practical experience in data analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning while working on real-world business challenges.

Responsibilities

Analyze structured and unstructured datasets to uncover trends and insights

Support the development of reports, dashboards, and data visualizations

Assist in data preparation, cleaning, and validation activities

Apply statistical techniques to support business decision-making

Contribute to predictive modeling and machine learning initiatives

Work with data from multiple sources to improve reporting accuracy and accessibility

Document analytical processes, methodologies, and findings

Identify opportunities for process optimization through data analysis

Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders on data-related projects

Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in data science and analytics

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.

Proficiency in Python, SQL, R, or similar analytical tools

Understanding of statistics, data analysis, and data visualization principles

Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting platforms

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have

Exposure to machine learning projects through coursework, internships, or personal projects

Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Familiarity with Git and collaborative development tools

Understanding of database concepts and data management practices
