Contract Details
- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 4 months (with potential for extension)
- Start: Early August 2026 (1st week)
- Pay Rate: C$90.00–C$100.00 / Hour (CAD)
- Shift / Schedule: 37.5 hours per week; Thursday and 4th Friday of the month in-office — may change due to business requirements; no overtime
- Vacation Constraints: No vacation constraints
Job Summary
DevOps Engineer responsible for DevOps engineering across Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise, including leadership of ADO to GHE migration initiatives. Serves as SME for deploying Azure solutions supporting web applications, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks, with strong expertise in CI/CD, infrastructure as code, cloud security, networking, monitoring, and operational readiness. Leads standardization of pipelines, automation frameworks, deployment governance, and cloud platform delivery across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
DevOps and Source Control
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise
- Proven experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of source control strategies, pull request workflows, and release governance
- Experience defining reusable deployment templates and DevOps standards
Migration Experience
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting migration from ADO to GHE
- Experience transitioning repositories, pipelines, permissions, and deployment processes
- Strong understanding of migration planning, validation, cutover, and change adoption
Azure Cloud Deployment
- Strong experience deploying Azure-based solutions for:
- Web applications and APIs - Data integration services - Data engineering and analytics workloads
- Deep knowledge of Azure platform deployment patterns, environment setup, and production support considerations
- Ability to support end-to-end delivery across application, data, and platform services
Infrastructure as Code and Automation
- Hands-on experience with ARM templates, PowerShell, Azure CLI/Databricks CLI, or similar automation tools
- Ability to automate provisioning, configuration, and release processes
- Experience designing repeatable and scalable infrastructure deployment models
Security and Networking
- Strong understanding of Azure identity, secrets management, access control, and private connectivity
- Experience with cloud networking concepts including segmentation, routing, and secure communication
- Ability to embed security and governance into DevOps and deployment practices
Monitoring and Supportability
- Experience implementing logging, monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and operational observability
- Ability to support production readiness, deployment health, and ongoing platform reliability
- Familiarity with backup, recovery, and resiliency practices
Leadership and Communication
- Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor team members, and influence engineering standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document processes and architecture decisions clearly
Required Skills
