Southbridge Health Care LP owns and operates several long-term care and retirement Homes throughout many urban and rural areas of Ontario. We are currently seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to provide comprehensive administrative and program support across Human Resources, Labour Relations, and Total Rewards functions. The role is responsible for supporting employee lifecycle activities, administering benefits, pension, compensation, recognition, and leave programs, maintaining HR records and data integrity, and serving as a key resource for employee inquiries. The HR Coordinator contributes to HR programs, employee engagement initiatives, workforce reporting, and process improvement efforts while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, organizational policies, and best practices. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external providers, the role helps deliver efficient, accurate, and employee-focused HR services that support organizational objectives.
This is a full-time position eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with 2-3 days per week remote. Involves occasional travel to the sites across Ontario, a reliable vehicle is a must. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with some flexibility depending on project requirements and occasional need for overtime. The role involves prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer. The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, requiring high attention to detail and strong time management skills. The role includes regular use of computer systems and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support for HR and labour relations activities, including onboarding, offboarding, employee documentation, and HR communications.
- Administer and support total rewards programs, including benefits, pension, compensation, recognition, and leave of absence programs.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance and coordinating resolution with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Maintain employee records, HRIS data, and program documentation, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with legislative and organizational requirements.
- Support HR programs and initiatives, including performance management, compensation reviews, recognition programs, training, employee engagement, and wellness activities.
- Coordinate with external providers and plan administrators to support program administration, disability management, and data integrity.
- Compile, analyze, and report on HR metrics and workforce data to support decision-making and identify trends.
- Contribute to process improvements and HR projects that enhance operational efficiency, employee experience, and organizational effectiveness.
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of HR operations and strategic initiatives.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1–3 years of HR administrative or coordinator experience, preferably within a corporate or multi-function HR environment.
- Familiarity with benefits, leave administration, and/or compensation programs is a strong asset.
- Solid understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
