Our Client is hiring an Intermediate Network Designer to support network security architecture, Azure connectivity, VPN configuration, firewall implementation, and migration-related network readiness for a public-sector client.
The successful candidate will review existing network topology, identify gaps, validate connectivity dependencies, and support secure connectivity between on-premises environments, GDC, and Azure.

Responsibilities
- Plan, research, and design secure network architectures across IT environments.
- Review current network security measures and recommend improvements.
- Develop and review installation requirements for LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, firewalls, and related network devices.
- Review high-level network topology, perform network assessments, and address identified gaps.
- Confirm site-to-site VPN requirements between Toronto / 777 Bay, GDC, and Azure.
- Validate IP ranges, routing, DNS, firewall rules, and migration-related connectivity dependencies.
- Design and configure Azure-side VPN connectivity, including Azure VPN Gateway and Local Network Gateway components.
- Coordinate on-premises and GDC VPN configuration with network/firewall teams.
- Implement and configure Azure Firewall.
- Perform site-to-site VPN smoke testing and provide limited VPN/routing triage.
- Validate Azure resource placement for migrated workloads.
- Review Azure Migrate project and appliance readiness.
- Confirm target VM sizing, disk configuration, replication prerequisites, backup, monitoring, and Microsoft Defender baseline planning.
- 7+ years of network design / network engineering experience.
- Strong experience implementing Azure Firewall.
- Experience with LAN, WAN, VPN, routers, firewalls, and network devices.
- Hands-on experience validating IP ranges, routing, DNS, firewall, and connectivity dependencies.
- Experience reviewing network topology and performing network assessments.
- Experience confirming and supporting site-to-site VPN requirements.
- Ability to work onsite 5 days per week in Toronto.
- Public sector experience.
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, Wireless Security, AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect, or AZ-700 Azure Network Engineer.
