About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Game Designer to join Disney Experiences within the 20th Century Games Group. This full-time role involves collaborating closely with multiple game projects that utilize Disney's extensive portfolio of IPs, including 20th Century's properties such as Alien, Predator, and The Simpsons. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for reviewing, guiding, and ensuring that the games align with brand standards, gameplay quality, and creative vision. Your expertise will support external development studios in meeting milestones, maintaining consistency across projects, and delivering engaging, high-quality gaming experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of game design principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs and industry trends.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should have at least five years of experience in game design or game development, with a proven track record of completing at least two full project cycles. Expertise in at least two of the following design disciplines is required: combat, level, systems, progression, area, quest or mission, technical gameplay, encounter, or UI/UX design. A working knowledge of game engines such as Unreal, Unity, or proprietary tools is essential. Candidates should have experience working across various game genres, styles, and gameplay modes. Additionally, the role requires the ability to travel domestically and possess a valid form of identification suitable for travel purposes. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Creative Lead to review and provide constructive feedback on gameplay mechanics, systems, assets, and documentation from external studios to ensure alignment with brand and quality standards.
- Participate in regular review cycles, offering guidance to help studios meet project milestones, gates, and deadlines while maintaining high-quality outputs.
- Convey clear, actionable feedback throughout all phases of development, adapting communication style to project needs.
- Assist studios in preserving core project and gameplay pillars, identity, and conventions, ensuring consistency across the gaming portfolio.
- Serve as a reliable source of brand and gameplay information, supporting external teams in understanding and implementing Disney’s creative vision.
- Attend and contribute to meetings with game directors, creative leads, gameplay leads, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project progression.
- Support the product manager in managing submission workflows, deadlines, and team responses related to project milestones and approvals.
- Establish and maintain internal standards, conventions, and benchmarks for gameplay systems, features, and assets applicable across multiple projects.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually enhance project quality and team capabilities.
