The Funding and Capital Structure Director is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing the Group’s capital structure and executing complex funding and treasury initiatives. The role ensures optimal balance between debt and equity, drives cost-efficient financing solutions, and oversees capital transactions across projects, acquisitions, and corporate initiatives.
The position requires strong leadership, deep expertise in structured finance, and the ability to manage high-value funding transactions in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
Capital Structure & Strategy
- Lead the development and execution of the Group’s capital structure strategy, ensuring an optimal balance between debt and equity.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing cost of capital and strengthening financial stability.
- Assess and recommend strategic financing options for Group investments, projects, and acquisitions.
Funding & Transactions
- Lead end-to-end funding processes including debt and equity financing transactions.
- Prepare and review key financing documents such as teasers, term sheets, and financial models.
- Oversee execution of debt issuances, refinancing, restructuring, and equity raising activities.
- Ensure timely completion of all conditions precedent (CPs) and closing requirements for financing deals.
Debt Portfolio Management
- Manage and optimize the Group’s debt portfolio, including refinancing, reprofiling, and restructuring opportunities.
- Identify efficiencies to improve funding terms and overall cost of debt.
Treasury Projects & Execution
- Lead treasury-related capital projects ensuring delivery within timelines and budget.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to track progress, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure successful execution of funding initiatives.
Financial Analysis & Risk
- Develop advanced financial models to evaluate funding structures and scenarios.
- Conduct risk assessments for financing options and capital allocation decisions.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for capital transactions and treasury execution.
- Engage with banks, investors, and advisors to secure optimal financing arrangements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across finance, legal, strategy, and project teams.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Strong expertise in debt and equity financing structures.
- Proven experience in debt restructuring, reprofiling, and capital optimization.
- Advanced financial modelling and valuation capabilities.
- Strong understanding of transaction execution and closing processes.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools (SAP preferred).
- Strong risk management and cost optimization capabilities.
- AI and digital finance fluency is an advantage.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 20 years of professional experience in finance or treasury functions.
- At least 15 years in leadership or senior management roles.
- Minimum 5 years GCC experience preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certification preferred (e.g., ACCA or equivalent).
