IT Project Manager – Consultant Job Purpose

The IT Project Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and monitoring a portfolio of IT projects from initiation through closure, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards while aligning with organizational objectives and strategic plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned IT projects in accordance with established project management methodologies and governance frameworks.
• Ensure successful project delivery by meeting agreed objectives, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with business units, IT teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service commitments.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including project charters, plans, status reports, risk registers, and closure reports.
• Provide regular project updates and progress reports to management and stakeholders.
• Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder discussions to ensure alignment and effective communication.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
• Resolve project-related challenges and escalate issues where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, governance requirements, security standards, and audit requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive business and project information.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the enhancement of project management practices.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and project management best practices.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is mandatory.
• MBA or Master's Degree is preferred.
  
  

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience managing large-scale IT projects.
• Proven experience in banking, financial services, or highly regulated industries is preferred.
• Experience managing multiple projects and cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated success in vendor management, stakeholder management, and project governance.
