Business Analyst

Funteron is an AI-powered sports engagement platform that enables trusted media brands to offer embedded odds comparison and betting experiences across multiple licensed sportsbook operators.

We are opening an office in Lviv, Ukraine and building our first team here.

This is a foundational hire for our Lviv engineering team. You’ll help to establish standards, shape the team’s ways of working, and play a key role in scaling sportsbook engineering. The Business Analyst is responsible for understanding customer, and operational needs and translating them into clear requirements, user stories, and insights that drive our sportsbook affiliate roadmap. You will work closely with product managers, marketing, compliance, data, and technology teams to improve performance of betting products, markets, and features

Key responsibilities

• Partner with product, and operations to capture and clarify business requirements for platform features, tools, and processes.
• Translate business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows for engineering teams.
• Analyse betting, customer, and commercial data to identify trends, opportunities, and issues (e.g., product performance, conversion, retention, margins, exposure.)
• Support prioritisation and roadmap planning by quantifying impact, effort, and dependencies for proposed changes.
• Document and maintain end‑to‑end processes across the platform lifecycle: registration, deposit, bet placement, and customer support journeys for all of the operators.
• Define and track KPIs and reporting for platform initiatives; create dashboards and regular performance updates for stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, and walkthroughs with stakeholders across product, tech, and business functions.
• Support UAT and release readiness, including test case definition, validation of new features, and documentation updates.
• Proactively identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and risk areas, recommending practical improvements.

Required experience

• 3–5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role, ideally in sports betting, iGaming, or another transactional digital product.
• Solid understanding of sportsbook concepts — markets, events, selections, odds, bet types.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams (product, technology, trading, operations, marketing, CRM.)
• Comfortable working with data and metrics — e.g., using SQL/BI tools or spreadsheets to produce insights and business cases.
• Proven ability to create clear documentation: BRDs, user stories, process maps, data requirements, and reporting specs.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain technical or complex topics in simple, concise language to non‑technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated betting or gambling markets, with awareness of compliance, responsible gaming, and KYC/AML requirements. Not a must.
• Exposure to A/B testing and experimentation for product or UX changes.
• Familiarity with agile delivery practices (Scrum/Kanban), including backlog refinement and sprint ceremonies.
• Experience with tools such as Jira/Confluence, Figma, Tableau/Power BI, Looker, or similar.
