With direction from Customer Science leadership, develop and implement the demand model, including algorithm selection, model training, and validation.
Develop and deploy the necessary infrastructure and code to support the Customer’s Tool and Demand Model.
Requirements
- Python & SQL: Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with Python (particularly the Jupyter Notebooks ecosystem).
- Data Science & ML: Practical experience in Machine Learning and Data Science, with a specific focus on time-series data analysis and forecasting.
- Applied Statistics: Solid foundation in applied statistics, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and uncertainty quantification.
- Data Visualization: Proven ability to build compelling visual narratives and dashboards using Matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn, and Streamlit.
- Data Infrastructure: Experience working with Snowflake DWH and cloud platforms (GCP and/or Azure).
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex model results and findings into clear business insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Language: Strong written and verbal English communication skills (capable of thriving in an English-only working environment).
- Industry Experience: Background in retail analytics, particularly in analyzing retail transaction data (t-logs), trends, and seasonalities.
- Modern Data Stack: Familiarity with Lakehouse architectures and concepts (Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or DuckDB).
- Emerging Tech: Experience with or a strong interest in Generative AI / Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Drive EDA and data modeling on extensive retail transaction (t-log) datasets.
- Detect and analyze seasonality, trends, and anomalies in time-series sales data.
- Develop stakeholder-facing dashboards and reports (using Jupyter, Streamlit, Plotly, etc.).
- Design and maintain robust analytical data models using Snowflake.
- Perform continuous exploratory analysis covering demand, lift, incremental sales, cannibalization, and margin effects.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to extract actionable insights from core retail analytics platforms.
- Communicate model results and data-driven insights clearly to cross-functional and non-technical teams.
