Business Overview

The EC Incubation Development Department (ECID) which this position belongs to has responsibilities of development and operation of various emerging EC services including Rakuma (flea market app), Rakuten hometown tax support, Rakuten Healthcare, Yoyakusuri(pharmacy reservations), med.(online medical care) etc.

Department Overview

Although each development group is independently contributing to each service, we regularly hold meetups which are events for information sharing across the group and have committee scheme which members gather based on their common interests for improving their skills.

The Emerging Service Group develops and operates J.LEAGUE ONLINE STORE （ https://store.jleague.jp/ ） This service is an EC site that customers purchase official goods of all J-League clubs and entry fan club membership, and has continues to grow since Rakuten renewed in 2017.

You can take charge of everything from front-end to back-end because it is a BtoC service which has the functions of "product purchasing, warehouse management, search function and product page, order, inventory, shipping and delivery to the customers". You will surely feel growth and worthwhile.

In this position, as a project manager, you will lead projects to build new systems and enhance functionality using the latest technology.

To achieve this, we further need project managers who can appropriately manage resources and schedules while developing multiple projects in parallel.

Position Details

As a project manager, your responsibilities are to coordinate and complete the project within budget and on schedule, assign appropriate personnel for each task deadline, monitor and track project progress and risks and issues, and report accurate summaries to upper management on the progress of the project. This is to In addition, the project manager is expected to work with project stakeholders, coordinate with each department to ensure that deliverables are on schedule and within budget, and lead the above as the primary focus of the project.

• Project planning (goal setting, milestone and critical path planning, internal and external project dependency planning, test and release planning, budget planning, and schedule development)
• Project execution and progress management (judgment and decision making, process management, task tracking, quality control, budget and cost control, handling scope changes)
• Communication (stakeholder management, project facilitation, communication with stakeholders, reporting)
• Risk management and risk mitigation
• Problem management and problem solving

Work Environment

The group consists of 5 engineering team members and 2 producing team members. We are looking for a position within the producing team.

The composition ranges from new graduates with more than 10 years of optimism to mid-career employees in their second or third year with the company.

Mandatory Qualifications

• At least 4-6 years of experience as a project manager
• Strong knowledge of software development
• Excellent problem and risk management
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Communication skills (minimizing communication gaps among stakeholders)
• Reporting, presentation and meeting facilitation skills
• Strong “commitment” mindset to bring projects to completion
• Experience working with engineers, product managers, and business partners
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• Project management certification (PMP, etc.)
• Program management experience
• Experience as a software developer
• Knowledge of product management
• Experience in production operation of Internet services
• Knowledge of Jira/Confluence and other project management tools
