About Quantum Arcadia
Quantum Arcadia LLP is an indie VR/AR game studio based in Vadodara, India. We are building Dreamscape — an open-world VR city-exploration experience for Meta Quest featuring AI-powered NPCs and photorealistic recreations of global cities including Mumbai, Paris, Rome, New York, and Tokyo. We are targeting a December 2026 launch and are assembling a talented team of developers, artists, and designers to bring this vision to life.
The Role
We are looking for a skilled Unity Developer with hands-on VR experience to join the Dreamscape engineering team. You will be responsible for implementing core gameplay systems, VR interactions, performance optimisation for Meta Quest, and integrating AI-powered NPC behaviours into the open-world environment. This is a high-ownership role where your code will directly shape the player experience.
What You Will Do
- • Develop and maintain gameplay systems, VR interactions, and world mechanics in Unity (C#)
- • Implement and optimise VR features using the XR Interaction Toolkit and Meta Quest SDK
- • Build performant open-world systems — streaming, LOD management, occlusion culling — within Meta Quest hardware constraints
- • Integrate AI-powered NPC behaviours and city simulation systems into the game world
- • Implement Unity UI Toolkit and World Space UI for in-VR menus, HUDs, and interaction prompts
- • Work with the backend team to integrate multiplayer or cloud services (PlayFab / Photon Fusion)
- • Profile and optimise frame rate, draw calls, memory usage, and thermal performance for standalone Quest
- • Collaborate with 3D Artists and UI/UX Designer to integrate assets cleanly into the Unity pipeline
- • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and daily standups as part of the core dev team
- • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable C# code following established conventions
What We Are Looking For
- • 2–5 years of professional Unity development experience
- • Proven hands-on experience with VR development — Meta Quest (Quest 2 / Quest 3) strongly preferred
- • Strong proficiency in C# and Unity game architecture patterns (MVC, ECS, ScriptableObjects)
- • Experience with the XR Interaction Toolkit or Oculus Integration SDK
- • Solid understanding of GPU/CPU profiling and mobile/standalone VR optimisation
- • Experience with Unity's Universal Render Pipeline (URP)
- • Familiarity with Git-based version control workflows
- • Portfolio or shipped title demonstrating VR or 3D game development
Nice to Have
- • Experience with open-world or streaming world techniques in Unity
- • Familiarity with PlayFab, Photon Fusion, or multiplayer networking
- • Knowledge of NavMesh, behaviour trees, or AI NPC systems
- • Experience integrating LLM or AI services into Unity projects
- • Prior indie studio or startup experience
- • Interest in Indian cities, architecture, or cultural storytelling — the heart of Dreamscape
What We Offer
- Work on a pioneering, India-made VR title targeting a global launch on Meta Quest
- Direct collaboration with the Game Director and a small, passionate core team
- High ownership — your systems will be central to Dreamscape's player experience
- A creative, learning-first culture with room to grow as the studio scales
- Competitive salary based on experience and skill
- On-site role at our Vadodara studio
