Senior .NET Engineer - London/Nottingham
Fully Remote (must be based in UK)
Up to £100k/year (high-ownership "mid level" Engineers also welcome up to £80k)
You would be working with a leading SaaS business powering the energy sector, who are investing heavily in their engineering organisation. They're looking for engineers who don't just want to deliver tickets - they want to influence products, own solutions and help shape the future of how engineering is done.
If you're someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while having a genuine voice in engineering decisions, and you want to OWN "stuff", then this could great for you. They need people who are genuine solution-bringers, not just ticket-takers, so demonstrable responsibility and ownership is essential.
The Opportunity
You'll join the team responsible for the lifecycle of customer accounts, building APIs and event-driven services that power critical business processes.
The engineering team is in the middle of an exciting transformation, balancing:
- Modernising a large monolithic platform into decoupled services
- Building new customer-facing capabilities
- Supporting an established SaaS product used at scale
- Driving improvements across architecture, engineering practices and developer experience
This is an environment where engineers are encouraged to challenge ideas, influence technical direction and take ownership from design through to production.
Their philosophy is simple:
You build it. You run it. You own it.
Technology
- .NET, C#
- Azure AND AWS (MUST have strong experience in at least 1 of these)
- Event-driven architecture (SNS/SQS)
- REST APIs
- Angular (with React adoption beginning - React experience very welcome)
- Some bits in TypeScript - not essential experience though
- ECS / EKS experience very welcomed!
You'll likely have:
- Strong commercial experience with .NET and modern backend development
- Full Stack experience (Angular or React preferred)
- Experience building cloud-native applications in Azure and/or AWS
- Infrastructure-as-Code exposure (Terraform desirable)
- An understanding of distributed systems or event-driven architectures
- The confidence to contribute ideas rather than simply deliver requirements
They're looking for people who want to help build that culture, not simply benefit from it once it's already established.
Ways of Working
- Remote-first with very infrequent team visits onsite
- Monthly team meet-ups (depending on team)
- Company-wide engineering and business events throughout the year
Interview Process
The process has been designed to be efficient while giving candidates a genuine opportunity to demonstrate their ability.
The first stage combines:
- Coding
- System Design
- Behavioural discussion
- 90 minutes total
