Senior Network Engineer (Firewall) - Cork, Ireland Onsite

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer with a strong background in firewall technologies to join a global infrastructure and security team. This role focuses on securing and supporting enterprise network environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain enterprise firewall policies and IPSEC VPNs
• Perform firewall changes, troubleshooting, and operational support.
• Lead complex incident resolution and root-cause analysis
• Support firewall upgrades, migrations, and security initiatives.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, application, and security teams.
• Drive automation and operational improvements using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of enterprise firewall administration experience.
• Expertise with at least one major firewall platform (Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco Firepower).
• Strong IPSEC VPN troubleshooting skills.
• Solid networking knowledge including routing, switching, DNS, packet analysis, and load balancing.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

• AWS, Azure, or GCP experience.
• Python, PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform.
• F5 BIG-IP, Infoblox, Citrix, or Cisco Spine-and-Leaf experience.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.
