Role Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Data & Analytics Engineer to integrate our teams and support the design and evolution of modern data platforms, driving scalable data solutions in cloud environments and contributing to the modernisation of data ecosystems.
What you will do:
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines for ingestion, processing, and transformation in cloud environments (GCP and/or Databricks);
- Define and promote data engineering standards, frameworks, and best practices ensuring scalability, governance, and security;
- Develop and optimise ELT processes using tools such as Databricks, dbt, and SQL-based transformations;
- Orchestrate and monitor pipelines using Apache Airflow, ensuring reliability and performance across workflows;
- Contribute to the design of modern Lakehouse architectures, including data modelling (Star Schema, Data Vault) and layered approaches (raw/bronze/silver/gold);
- Support migration initiatives from legacy systems to modern cloud-based data platforms;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Science, Analytics, and IT, to deliver high-impact data solutions.
What you are like:
- Experienced in cloud-based data platforms, particularly GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC) and/or Databricks;
- Proficient in SQL (BigQuery or Databricks SQL) and Python/PySpark for distributed data processing;
- Skilled in building ELT pipelines and using tools such as dbt and Airflow for orchestration and workflow management;
- Knowledgeable in modern data architectures, including Lakehouse concepts and dimensional modelling techniques;
- Comfortable influencing architectural decisions and establishing engineering best practices;
- Strong problem solver with the ability to optimise performance in distributed systems;
- Collaborative and proactive, with a mindset focused on mentorship, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement;
- Familiar with (nice to have) MLOps practices, feature engineering, and feature store implementations.
