Technology Lead – Python Backend & Cloud Engineering

Hybrid 3 Days Onsite and 2 Days Remote

Location: Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Romania

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software development activities from design through production deployment.

• Design and develop scalable RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.

• Build and maintain cloud-native applications running on Kubernetes.

• Create high-level and low-level design artifacts and technical documentation.

• Drive code quality through reviews, testing, and best engineering practices.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Azure Pipelines.

• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, DevOps, and Data teams.

• Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical leadership during releases.

• Mentor developers and promote engineering best practices across teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Python development (Python 3.9+ preferred).

• Strong experience building RESTful APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks.

• Solid expertise in Kubernetes, including Deployments, Services, Ingress, Helm Charts, and ConfigMaps.

• Experience working with Redis for caching, Pub/Sub, and distributed locks.

• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and Azure Pipelines.

• Strong knowledge of Docker and containerized application development.

• Experience with automated testing using Pytest, Mocking, Parametrization, and Regression Testing.

• Knowledge of asynchronous programming (async/await).

• Experience with application performance tuning and profiling.

• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools including Logging, Distributed Tracing, and Metrics Monitoring.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Event-Driven Architectures.

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus.

• Familiarity with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD and Flux.

• Experience designing High Availability and Distributed Systems.

• Knowledge of Horizontal Scaling strategies.

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep).
