Activities

The Chief Accountant position is responsible for:

• Ensure full compliance of bookkeeping and financial reporting with statutory regulations, IFRS principles, fiscal legislation, and other regulatory requirements.

• Maintain accurate, complete, and up to date accounting records for all financial transactions

• Coordinate, supervise, and support the day to day activities of the accounting department, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy.

• Lead and continuously develop the accounting team through training and knowledge sharing initiatives.

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including detailed trial balance reviews, in line with local and group deadlines.

• Prepare, validate, and sign direct tax declarations, including Corporate Income Tax and Withholding Tax.

• Coordinate and supervise the preparation of other tax returns (VAT, Excise Duties, WHT, and industry specific taxes) in collaboration with the Tax Manager.

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize the corporate tax burden while ensuring full compliance.

• Act as the main point of contact for tax authorities, managing tax inspections and audits.

• Maintain and oversee the Fixed Assets Register and Transfer Pricing documentation.

• Prepare and sign Statutory Financial Statements for half year and year end reporting.

• Coordinate and provide full support for interim and annual external audits.

• Organize and supervise periodic inventory and stock counts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Maintain and monitor key internal controls and priority controls.

• Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports to authorities such as the National Bank and the Institute of Statistics.

• Act as SAP FI Super Key User, contributing to testing, process improvements, and system knowledge development.

• Review, update, and implement local accounting procedures, ensuring alignment with group policies.

• Ensure compliance with the Company Code of Conduct, ethics standards, and internal policies related to quality, environment, health, and safety.

Qualification / Experience required

Qualification level required for the position: Level 7 = Master’s or equivalent level

Technical skills required for the position: Accounting skills (Statutory and IFRS) and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of fiscal legislation; MS Office and SAP;
