The client is looking for a UI/UX designer skilled in Figma and with a strong focus on multi-channel design, who will work closely with stakeholder in the organization and IT teams to deliver seamless, customer-centric experiences across digital platforms.

As an IT-focused UI/UX designer, you balance technical feasibility with business requirements to create innovative and effective design solutions. Your practical approach ensures that designs are executed seamlessly, from concept to implementation, with an emphasis on user needs, technical constraints and business and civilian objectives.

You are part of the Customer Service IT teams. The domain Customer Service consists of the IT applications of the SFP that offer automated communication and assistance to citizens (for example: mijnpensioen.be, websites, correspondence).

Our IT team is physically located next to the business teams (Cx – Customer Experience) to enable close cooperation.

Domain of responsibility

Creation and implementation of UI/UX design

  • Practical design work: leading the design process, from idea formation and wireframing with hi-fi mockups and interactive prototypes, mainly with the help of Figma.
  • Multi-channel interfaces: they have consistent interfaces and respond to both channels, internet, desktop and digital platforms.
  • User-centered design: conduct user research, develop personas and compelling user flows to profoundly understand users’ needs, goals, and problems. Integrate intuitively, the visual effect is right and you see how it changes when it comes to light and the business objectives.
  • Iterative design process: take an agile approach, where jdesign is constantly monitored based on feedback from stakeholders, users and IT teams

Collaboration with business teams

  • Understand the needs of the organization: Work closely with stakeholders in the organization to understand project objectives, KPIs and user requirements so that design solutions align with business strategies and objectives.
  • Design for Impact: Translate the needs of the organization into actionable design solutions that not only meet the objectives of the organization, but also improve the user experience.
  • Present design concepts: Communicate design ideas clearly to business teams and stakeholders, advocate user-centric design principles, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Collaboration with IT and development teams

  • Design feasibility: Work closely with IT and development teams to ensure that designs are technically feasible, taking into account any restrictions or restrictions imposed by the technology stack.
  • Design transfer and support: Provide detailed design specifications, resources and interactive prototypes to the development team to ensure designs are implemented correctly. Be available to answer any questions or challenges during the development process.
  • Technical tuning: Make sure designs are optimized for performance and adapted for different devices, taking into account platform-specific guidelines (e.g. internet, mobile, desktop).

Prototyping, testing and iterations

  • Interactive prototypes: Create interactive prototypes in Figma to demonstrate user flows, interactions and transitions, enabling feedback and validation at an early stage.
  • Usability tests: Perform usability tests to evaluate the effectiveness of designs, collect feedback from real users, and repeat designs based on the results to improve usability and functionality.
  • Feedback integration: actively collect feedback from business, user and IT teams to make iterative improvements and ensure final designs meet the needs of users and organizations

Design systems and component libraries

  • Development of design systems: Create and maintain a scalable, modular design system in Figma, ensure consistency across the entire product suite, and enable faster, more efficient design and development workflows.
  • Component libraries: Develop reusable components and design tools that streamline design and development and ensure consistency between platforms and projects

Cooperation and documentation

  • Clear communication: Provide clear communication with stakeholders in the organization and IT teams, provide regular updates on design progress, and respond to any concerns or changes to requirements.
  • Documentation: Document design decisions, design systems and user flows to ensure alignment between all team members and support future design initiatives

Continuous improvement and learning

  • Trend awareness: Stay up to date with the latest design trends, tools and best practices, especially if they relate to Figma and multi-channel design so that designs are modern, functional and accessible.
  • Agile methodology: work within agile sprints, participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives, to continuously improve design processes and results

Must have

  • UI/UX design expertise: strong understanding of UI/UX design principles including user research, wireframing, prototyping, user flows, interaction design and visual design.
  • Agile methodology: Experience working in an agile development environment, including iterative design processes and regular collaboration with development teams.
  • Multi-Channel Design: hands-on design of experiences across multiple platforms (web, iOS, Android, desktop), with an emphasis on creating consistent and adaptive user experiences across devices.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Experience creating interactive prototypes and conducting usability tests to validate design decisions and improve the user experience.
  • Figma Mastery: Advanced skills in using Figma for designing hi-fi user interfaces, creating prototypes and managing design systems.
  • Front-end knowledge: Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, Angular, elasticCMS ...) to ensure that designs are feasible and can be implemented effectively.
  • Usability Testing: Strong experience in planning, conducting and analyzing usability tests to gather insights and optimize designs.
  • Project management tools: Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, Confluence or similar tools to track progress and communicate effectively with multi-function teams.
