Switchgear Testing & Commissioning Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Switchgear Testing & Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Qatar. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and energization of MV/LV switchgear in industrial, utility, or Oil & Gas projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform testing and commissioning of MV & LV switchgear and MCCs.
• Conduct protection relay testing (preferably Siemens SIPROTEC), control circuit, interlock, and SCADA interface testing.
• Carry out primary/secondary injection, insulation resistance, contact resistance, timing, and circuit breaker testing.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and support system energization.
• Verify wiring against approved drawings and prepare commissioning reports and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with IEC standards, project specifications, and HSE requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–8 years of testing & commissioning experience.
• Minimum 3 years in substations, utilities, industrial, or Oil & Gas projects.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens switchgear is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with testing equipment such as Omicron CMC, Megger, Primary/Secondary Injection Test Sets, Circuit Breaker Analyzers, and Micro-ohm Meters.
• Familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards, PTW, and LOTO procedures.
• Valid Qatar ID and immediate availability are preferred.
