Sprint Master & Team Lead
📍 Cumbria Area | 💰 £55,000 - 65,000 | Full-Time
Are you passionate about building high-performing engineering teams, driving delivery, and creating an environment where developers can do their best work?
We're looking for an experienced Sprint Master & Team Lead to join an established business. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the team's delivery, culture and day-to-day operations, helping to shape the future of both the product and the people building it.
About the Role
This is a leadership-first position. Rather than acting as the team's most senior developer, you'll focus on enabling success through effective people management, agile delivery, and continuous improvement.
Working closely with the CTO and Product Manager, you'll ensure work moves efficiently from planning through to release, helping the team deliver high-quality software in a predictable, sustainable way.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading, mentoring and supporting a team of four software developers through regular 1:1s, coaching and performance development.
- Driving Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and backlog refinement.
- Owning delivery across the team, removing blockers and ensuring work progresses smoothly.
- Coordinating software releases and helping evolve towards a more frequent, reliable deployment cycle.
- Leading the team's response to production incidents and driving continuous improvement from lessons learned.
- Championing the practical adoption of AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity while maintaining quality.
- Working collaboratively with engineering and product stakeholders to create an engaged, accountable and high-performing team culture.
About You
You'll be an experienced engineering leader who enjoys bringing out the best in people.
You'll likely have:
- Previous experience managing and developing software engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery and sprint management.
- Technical credibility across modern software development, APIs, integrations, testing, databases and release processes.
- Experience coordinating software delivery within a fast-paced development environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, organised approach with a passion for improving both people and processes.
- An interest in AI-assisted software development and how emerging technologies can enhance engineering teams.
Hands-on development experience is beneficial but not essential. What matters most is your ability to lead, coach and keep delivery moving.
What's on Offer
- Competitive salary from £55,000+, depending on experience.
- Private healthcare, including dental, optical and mental health support.
- 31 days' holiday, including Bank Holidays and Christmas closure.
- Annual salary reviews and regular career development conversations.
- The opportunity to shape engineering culture and delivery within a growing SaaS business.
- A collaborative team where your ideas and leadership will genuinely influence the way software is delivered.
If you're an experienced engineering leader who enjoys developing people, improving delivery, and making a tangible impact, we'd love to hear from you
