Software Engineer (Backend / Full Stack PHP) | API & Data Platform | Sydney

We’re partnering with a product company building a global SaaS platform used at scale across education and analytics environments. Their technology powers interactive experiences and large scale data processing for millions of users worldwide.

This is a strong opportunity for engineers who enjoy end-to-end ownership, shipping production systems, and working across both backend and product layers.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and building scalable backend systems and APIs
• Contributing across the full lifecycle from ideation to production release
• Working on data-driven features and tuning systems for performance
• Investigating complex problems and delivering robust long-term solutions
• Collaborating with product, design, and leadership stakeholders
• Contributing to engineering standards through code reviews and best practices

Their Stack & Requirements

• PHP, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Python
• PostgreSQL/MySQL and SQL design
• AWS, Docker
• APIs, backend services, or data intensive systems
• Testing, CI/CD, and agile development practices
• Comfortable contributing across frontend when required

Nice to have:

• Experience with AI tools, data platforms, or search technologies (e.g. Elasticsearch)
• Exposure to additional backend languages (e.g. Go)
