Senior Software Engineer (Founding Team)

Care GP (YC S26) is building the AI operating system for healthcare.

We partner with GP clinics across Australia to automate administrative work using AI agents, giving healthcare professionals more time to care for patients.

In our first year we’ve:

• 💰 Reached profitability while remaining owned by our team and customers

We’re building an exceptional founding team to help create the first generation of superintelligent healthcare clinics.

We’re looking for an exceptional software engineer who loves building.

You’ll be a high-impact individual contributor, writing code every day while helping provide technical leadership across our engineering team of 7.

You’ll work directly with the founders to design, build and scale the AI infrastructure powering thousands of healthcare professionals. This isn’t a management role. We want someone who leads by shipping, making great technical decisions and raising the bar for everyone around them.

• Has exceptional software engineering fundamentals
• Loves being hands-on and writing production code
• Has experience building scalable production systems
• Has strong backend experience with modern cloud architectures
• Is proficient in Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Go or similar
• Understands distributed systems, APIs, databases and software design
• Can naturally provide technical leadership without relying on hierarchy
• Thrives in high-ownership, fast-moving startup environments
