Cyber Security Specialist

Profectus is seeking experienced Security Analysts and Security Incident Response specialists for a major Australian Government program. These roles suit people who can protect important business platforms and data, monitor and respond to threats, and support assurance and compliance, working closely with stakeholders and delivery partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide operational security management, monitoring and access administration
• Perform log monitoring, alert triage, vulnerability management and incident response
• Investigate suspected attacks and manage security incidents through to resolution
• Conduct security risk, vulnerability and business impact assessments
• Support audits, assurance and compliance activities
• Apply and advise on physical, procedural and technical security controls
• Maintain accurate security records and contribute to security policies, standards and continuous improvement

Required Experience

• Strong operational security or incident response experience in complex environments
• Experience with security monitoring, vulnerability management and incident handling
• Knowledge of security controls and risk and impact analysis
• Australian Government experience as a minimum, with strong problem-solving and documentation skills
• Ability to operate effectively both independently and within integrated, multi-vendor delivery teams

Desirable Experience

• Experience aligned to the ISM, PSPF and Essential Eight
• Familiarity with forensics and threat detection tooling
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP or CISM

Security Clearance Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Must hold a Baseline security clearance

Working Arrangements

• Hybrid; predominantly onsite with periodic work from home where appropriate
• Canberra preferred
• Candidates based in VIC, NSW, SA or QLD may also be considered
