Cyber Security Specialist

I am seeking an experienced Cyber Specialist with strong IT and Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity experience to help strengthen my client's current security environment. This is a hands-on role for someone who can assess current security architecture, identify risks, and deliver practical improvements from day one.

The successful candidate will play a key role in reviewing and enhancing IT security architecture while supporting the ongoing uplift of OT security environment, including industrial networks, operational systems, and critical infrastructure technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assess existing IT security architecture, identifying vulnerabilities, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support the development and uplift of OT cybersecurity capabilities, ensuring operational environments are secure and resilient.
• Conduct security risk assessments across both IT and OT environments, helping identify, prioritise, and address key security risks.
• Develop practical security recommendations and solutions based on real-world experience, not just theoretical frameworks.
• Translate complex technical risks into clear business impacts and actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including engineering teams, vendors, technology teams, managers, and executive leadership.
• Provide guidance and expertise to help improve overall security maturity and risk management practices.

About You

You are a hands-on cybersecurity professional with experience designing, assessing, and improving security environments across both IT and OT domains. You are comfortable working at both a technical and strategic level and can confidently communicate security risks and recommendations to both technical teams and senior leaders.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex security challenges, influencing improvements, and making a measurable impact on an organisation’s security posture.
