IT Developer Android

We are looking for an expert IT Developer Android (6+ years of relevant experience) to join an Agile squad working on customer-facing banking channels in Brussels. This is a 7-month project focused on Android development for high-visibility digital banking applications. The start date is as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Translate requirements into high-quality code.
• Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable Kotlin code for the Android platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship new features.
• Work with external data sources and APIs.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.

Must-Have Requirements

• You have proven knowledge of Kotlin.
• You have proven knowledge of Jetpack Compose and Material 3 Design.
• You have proven knowledge of Android app development, including different versions of the Android SDK and libraries available for common tasks.
• You understand Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines, DDD, and best practices.
• You know clean code principles and apply them effectively.
• You write readable code and refactor where necessary.
• You are familiar with test-driven development and have practical experience with it.
• You have knowledge of SVN/Git, including GitLab or alternatives.
• You have knowledge of Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, Confluence, and JIRA.
• You have knowledge of Continuous Integration/Deployment principles.
• You have experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services and third-party libraries or APIs.
• English proficiency.
• Frrench and/or Dutch is a plus.
