Job Overview

In this role, you are shaping people related decisions and driving HR initiatives that support business performance and long term growth.

You are a trusted advisor to managers with deep Finnish HR and labor law expertise, strong HRBP experience, and a hands-on, process-minded approach.

Key Expertise

Partnering with the business: trusted advisor to managers and a member of the site management team. Combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution to design and deliver people solutions, using data and insight to anticipate and address people-related risks and challenges.

In-depth, hands-on knowledge of Finnish employment and labor law, including collective agreements, co-operation and continuous dialogue requirements with employee representatives, working time rules, statutory benefits, holiday accrual/pay and core payroll processes.

Experience interpreting and applying labor law in complex situations (e.g., reorganizations, terminations, co-operation procedures,) and translating legal requirements into practical guidance for people leaders.

Overseeing the local payroll process by ensuring compliance with collective agreements and labor laws.

Together with the Nordic HR team work to improve HR operational processes for Finland and implement global HR processes such as talent and performance management, compensation and talent acquisition in compliance with Finnish legislation.

Boosting organisational excellence by coaching people leaders.

Confidence to influence and collaborate with leaders, managers, employees, and stakeholders.

Collaborate with external stakeholders such as occupational healthcare, pension providers, and insurance companies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to interpret data, identify patterns, provide analysis and turn insights into concrete improvement actions.

Comfortable making decisions in ambiguous, fast-changing environments, balancing legal, business, and people considerations.

Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English, written and verbal.

Positive outlook and forward-thinking mindset.

Ability to build trust, enhance transparency and create warm, inclusive and welcoming work environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Relevant Degree (e.g. BBA) and min. 4 years of experience as HR Generalist, Specialist or Business Partner

Profound knowledge of local and relevant employment legislation

Effective leadership, coaching and counselling skills

Excellent problem solving, judgment and decision-making skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills and very good interpersonal and influencing skills

Strong attention to detail and high degree of discretion and confidentiality

Ability to work in a matrix environment and establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and stakeholders

Previous experience in leading projects and HRIS applications

This role is permanent and full-time (40 hours/week). In this position, you will report to Country HRBP. Your workstation is located in Kuopio and we work in a hybrid model with flexible working hours. As employee benefits, we offer you e.g. extensive occupational health care, ePassi Flex and leisure-time accident insurance. The salary range for the position is 4500-5500€.

The Corporate Functions provide operational support across Charles River in areas such as Human Resources, Finance, IT, Legal, Sales, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Corporate Development. They partner with their colleagues across the company to develop and drive strategies and to set global standards. The functions are essential to providing a bridge between strategic vision and operational readiness, to ensure ongoing functional innovation and capability improvement.
