IT Project Manager

IT Project Manager Contract Role Cork- Hybrid 3 days onsite

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of strategic technology initiatives within a global, matrixed organisation. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex IT projects, collaborating with stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with governance and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects through initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and delivery schedules.
• Manage project stage gates, risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
• Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders, managing communications and escalations where required.
• Prepare and present updates to steering committees and governance forums.
• Produce weekly project status reports, governance packs, and other project communications.
• Document meeting minutes, action plans, and ensure follow-up activities are completed.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and interdependencies across programmes.
• Collaborate with the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure alignment with organisational governance and reporting standards.
• Ensure compliance with project audit controls and governance requirements.

Essential Experience & Skills

• 3-5 years' experience managing IT projects.
• Strong experience delivering projects using Waterfall project management methodology.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex IT projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with project management tools, including Microsoft Project and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Solid understanding of IT project delivery lifecycles and technology implementations.
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and align cross-functional teams within a matrixed, virtual environment.
• Professional project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience leading project delivery through validation, testing, and business readiness activities.
• Ability to identify technical risks, requirements, and dependencies through engagement with business and technical teams.
• Familiarity with governance, compliance, and reporting requirements within regulated environments (e.g. SOX).
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to foster accountability and promote best practices across project teams.

Desirable Experience

• Experience delivering projects using Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar project management and work tracking tools.
