Crypto Compliance Analyst — KYT & Transaction Monitoring (Contract)

About Settl X
Settl X is building AI-powered compliance infrastructure for crypto companies, fintechs, and neobanks. We integrate with tools like Chainalysis, LexisNexis, SumSub making them work together so compliance teams spend less time switching tools and more time making decisions.
We are early-stage and moving fast, focused on improving how compliance operations actually run.
What This Role Is Really About
We’re looking for someone who has worked inside KYT alert queues — not theoretically, but operationally.
You’ve handled real alerts, made real escalation decisions, and understand what separates a quick dismissal from a deep investigation.
Your experience will directly shape how we design and build our product.
This is not a traditional compliance role — it’s a product-influencing role for an operator.
What You Will DoKYT Alert Triaging & Workflow Documentation
- Walk us through your real-world KYT triaging process end-to-end
- Explain how you evaluate exposure scores, risk signals, and sanctions flags
- Identify which data points matter vs. which are ignored
- Map decision logic:
- What leads to dismissal
- What triggers escalation
- What results in SAR filing
Tool Evaluation & Gap Analysis
- Share hands-on experience with Chainalysis KYT, Reactor, or similar tools (Elliptic, TRM Labs)
- Explain how you cross-reference KYT alerts with:
- KYC/KYB data
- Screening tools
- Back-office systems
- Highlight inefficiencies, pain points, and workarounds
- Review our workflows and flag gaps vs real-world operations
Knowledge Transfer & Product Input
- Join 2–3 structured working sessions per week
- Evaluate and pressure-test AI-generated outputs
- Help build realistic compliance scenarios and edge cases
- Provide feedback on:
- Alert prioritization
- Case structuring
- Escalation flows
Who You AreRequired
- 3+ years in crypto/fintech compliance (operational role — you’ve handled alerts yourself)
- Hands-on experience with at least one:
- Chainalysis KYT
- Elliptic
- TRM Labs
- Strong understanding of:
- Alert queues
- Case management
- Escalation workflows
- SAR drafting
- Experience linking KYT alerts with:
- KYC/KYB data
- Screening tools (e.g., LexisNexis, World-Check)
- Blockchain explorers
- Clear communicator — able to explain workflows, not just execute them
Strong Preference
- Experience at a crypto exchange or licensed VASP
- Familiarity with sanctions screening (OFAC, EU, UN)
- Experience with:
- Stablecoin flows
- Cross-border transactions
- High-risk jurisdictions
- CAMS / ICA or similar certification (nice to have)
