Location: Lisbon, Portugal
We are looking for a Senior Scrum Master to support Agile adoption, coach teams, and act as a facilitator and change agent within a large international organization.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, reviews, and backlog-related activities.
- Act as an Agile advocate, promoting Agile principles, Software Craftsmanship, XP, FDD, and Agile BABOK practices.
- Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile adoption, ensuring processes are understood, followed, and continuously improved.
- Support Product Owners in backlog management, prioritization, and value-driven product planning.
- Identify and remove impediments, whether technical, organizational, or people-related, to help teams perform effectively.
- Guide teams toward self-organization, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with other Scrum Masters to share best practices and ensure consistent Scrum adoption across the organization.
- Act as a change agent, supporting Agile transformation at both team and organizational level.
- Promote a culture of learning, transparency, open communication, and ownership.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Scrum Master, with strong experience implementing Scrum and coaching Agile teams.
- Strong knowledge of Agile principles, Scrum, and Agile transformation practices.
- Experience with Agile frameworks and practices such as XP, FDD, Software Craftsmanship, and Agile BABOK.
- Previous technical background as a software developer, with solid understanding of software development and engineering practices.
- Strong experience coaching, mentoring, and supporting teams toward high performance and self-organization.
- Excellent communication, leadership, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to handle ambiguity, conflict, and complex organizational environments.
- Ability to influence, inspire, and build positive relationships across different levels of the organization.
- Open, collaborative, transparent, courageous, and hands-on mindset.
- Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude, including a good sense of humour.
- Fluency in English.
- French is nice to have.
