Optical Engineer

We are looking for an Optical Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team in Slovenia and contribute to the next generation of innovative lighting solutions.

Your responsibilities

• Design and validate optical systems in compliance with legal and customer requirements
• Design optical components and products with focus on quality, cost, and manufacturability
• Develop innovative technical solutions for competitive and attractive product concepts
• Plan, track, and monitor project activities to ensure deadlines are met
• Serve as technical interface to customers; communicate and cascade requirements internally
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project targets
• Develop and implement innovative optical concepts for automotive lighting, balancing style, modularity, manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and robust performance
• Support intellectual property development through the Concept Development Process
• Perform early optical feasibility studies and product development for customer vehicle programs
• Optimize optical designs using advanced CAE tools and design analysis
• Support component testing, evaluate photometric performance, and recommend design improvements for current and new model lamps

Your profile

• Degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• Experience in optical system design, preferably in automotive lighting
• Proficiency with optical simulation and lighting CAE tools
• Knowledge of photometry, optical testing, and risk analysis
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication skills and experience interfacing with customers
