Who we are:

Open-minded intellectuals who embrace emerging technologies on our mission to create innovative Software Engineering Solutions that will impact millions of users around the world.

We are looking for an engineer to design, build and maintain scientific data integrations on the TetraScience Tetra Data Platform (TDP). The TDP is an event-driven, cloud-based (AWS) platform that collects scientific data from instruments and applications, harmonizes it, and pushes it to downstream systems such as an ELN, LIMS, analytics application, or AI/ML platform.

Crucially, the platform's integration and transformation logic is written in Python — Python is the only supported language for task scripts — so strong Python skills are essential for this role.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain interfaces/integrations between lab instruments, systems (LIMS/ELN/CDS) and the TDP.
  • Develop and maintain Tetra Data Pipelines — Python task scripts (the building blocks that contain the processing logic) assembled by protocols defined in YAML — to parse, transform, harmonize and push data.
  • Create and extend Intermediate Data Schemas (IDS) to parse proprietary instrument output files into a vendor-neutral format with scientifically relevant metadata.
  • Configure Tetra connectors/integrations to ingest instrument and system data.
  • Integrate via the TetraScience REST API and SDK (v2.0), and query harmonized data using SQL and Query DSL queries through the TetraScience API.
  • Package and deploy artifacts (e.g. Python Poetry packaging, requirements.txt for third-party modules) and manage a CI/CD process with version control.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline and data-flow issues, monitor pipelines, handle errors/retries.
  • Document solutions and support validation in a GxP environment (audit trail, IQ/OQ/PQ, test scripts).
  • Collaborate with instrument/application owners, QA and infrastructure teams.

Must-have skills (essential)

  • Hands-on experience with the TetraScience Tetra Data Platform: pipelines, Python task scripts, protocols, IDS, SDK 2.0.
  • Strong Python for data integration: parsing varied formats (CSV, XML, JSON, proprietary instrument output), data transformation, REST API consumption, robust error handling, unit testing.
  • Experience integrating systems via REST APIs (GraphQL a plus).
  • Solid understanding of scientific / lab data integration (instruments, CDS, ELN, LIMS) and data harmonization.
  • Git and sound engineering practices (testing, code review, CI/CD).
  • Working knowledge of AWS (S3, Lambda, IAM), as the TDP runs on AWS.
  • Professional English, written and spoken.

Desirable (nice-to-have)

  • TetraScience SDK / IDS authoring, the python-exec protocol, and TetraConnect Hub experience.
  • Pharma / life-sciences GxP background: computer system validation (CSV), data integrity (ALCOA+), 21 CFR Part 11 / EU Annex 11.
  • Familiarity with target systems: Chromatography Data Systems (e.g. Chromeleon, Empower), LIMS (e.g. LabWare), ELN (e.g. Benchling, IDBS).
  • SQL / data modelling; containerization (Docker).

Profile & seniority

  • Mid-to-senior data/integration engineer (typically 3+ years of Python integration experience) with demonstrable TetraScience project delivery.
  • Autonomous, structured, and a good communicator — comfortable bridging scientific/lab stakeholders and IT/infrastructure teams.
