IT Network Specialist (CCNP)

IT Network Specialist (CCNP) – the network is the backbone of our digital development. At Odfjell Technology, the IT department is a key driver of global collaboration, secure operations and digital innovation. We deliver a robust and modern IT infrastructure that connects Odfjell Drilling, Odfjell Technology and Odfjell Oceanwind – supporting around 4,500 users in more than 15 countries, 9 offshore rigs and interfaces with customer and supplier networks.

We are looking for an experienced network specialist who wants to help shape the digital platform of the future. You have a strong understanding of different communication carriers, such as satellite communication, radio link, 4G/5G, SD-WAN and other modern network technologies, and understand how these can be used to strengthen network resilience, security and performance.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, or equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience from operations, design or security in large network environments
• Cisco certification CCNP or equivalent documented experience
• Experience with network security, for example next-generation firewalls, penetration testing and IDS
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Norwegian and English
  
  
  

Specialist Expertise In Several Of The Following Areas

• Cisco switching and routing o Next-generation firewalls
• SIEM and network monitoring tools
• Wireless networks, preferably Cisco
• WAN solutions, for example SD-WAN, LTE, VSAT, Starlink and QoS
• OT networks and industrial network environments
  
  
  

Main Responsibilities

• Operate, manage and further develop network infrastructure nationally and internationally
• Design, implement, upgrade and maintain secure and robust network solutions
• Further develop and strengthen network security across IT and OT environments
• Follow up with suppliers and ensure strong technical deliveries within the area of expertise
• Collaborate with customers and internal specialist teams to identify secure, efficient and scalable network solutions
• Work at the interface between IT and OT to contribute to a holistic security focus
• Act as a key subject matter expert and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
• Possible participation in an on-call rotation
