WHAT WE BUILD

Most companies find out about supplier insolvencies, cyber attacks, factory fires or floods that affect their supply chain when it's already a crisis. Prewave exists to change that. We're an AI-native company giving BMW Group, Hilti and Lufthansa real-time visibility into supply chain risks before they become headlines.

We're looking for a Data Science Engineer who takes ownership of turning vast, complex data into actionable intelligence from day one. Someone who uses AI as a default part of how they work - and knows when to trust their own judgment.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

• Decode the data – Leverage natural language processing (NLP) to extract meaning from diverse datasets.
• Think like a scientist – Formulate hypotheses, uncover patterns, and pinpoint optimization opportunities.
• Build smarter AI – Develop, fine-tune, and deploy machine learning models using Torch and TensorFlow.
• Bridge research & reality – Transform cutting-edge algorithms into production-ready solutions.
• Keep models sharp – Monitor, enhance, and continuously improve model performance and accuracy.
• Expand the data universe – Identify and integrate new data sources to enrich our intelligence.
• Collaborate & innovate – Work with cross-functional teams to tackle business challenges with data-driven solutions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You are the right fit if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related fields
• 3+ years of experience in developing, deploying and scaling machine learning models to production
• Experience with NLP or other machine learning technologies, machine learning techniques and tools like Torch or Tensorflow
• Good experience in working with Python and Scala
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Strong problem-solving skills, comfortable with ambiguity and open-ended questions
• End-to-end ownership, from prototyping a model to deploying and monitoring it in production

Nice to have:

• Master’s degree in a related field
• Understanding of cloud-based services, especially Google Cloud Platform or AWS
• Knowledge of NoSQL database systems
• Knowledge of agile software development techniques
• Experience with agent engineering and AI tools like Cursor, Claude etc.

We're a robust AI-native team building an AI-native resilience product - and we hire for both. For us, AI-native has always meant humans and AI working together, not one replacing the other. We use tools like Claude and Cursor as a normal part of the job, to think faster, work smarter and spend less time on the repetitive stuff. We treat AI fluency as a skill like any other - something you build, experiment with and keep developing.

What that works alongside is real ownership. You'll have the space and the trust to figure things out your way - with a strong team around you and plenty of support when you need it. Things move fast here and the brief won't always be complete, but that's what makes the work interesting.

Minimum EUR 45,738 gross annually based on IT Collective Agreement. Flexible hours and hybrid working.
