Summary:

We are seeking an experienced PHP Developer with strong expertise in the Symfony framework and hands-on experience in application migration projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise-grade web applications while supporting the migration from legacy Symfony and PHP versions to modern platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using PHP 8.x and Symfony 5.x.
• Participate in the migration of existing applications from Symfony 3.4 to Symfony 5.x.
• Support migration from PHP 7.x to PHP 8.x, ensuring compatibility and performance.
• Develop clean, scalable, and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and application performance optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and DevOps.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Document technical designs, implementation details, and deployment procedures.

Required Skills

• 6–8 years of professional experience in PHP development.
• Strong experience with Symfony Framework (Symfony 5.x or higher).
• Hands-on experience in Symfony migration projects (Symfony 3.4 to Symfony 5.x preferred).
• Strong knowledge of PHP 8.x and migration from PHP 7.x.
• Experience with RESTful API development and integration.
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Design Patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency with Git and version control systems.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CakePHP framework.
• Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Familiarity with Composer and Symfony components.
• Exposure to cloud platforms is an added advantage.
