Payroll Specialist with Czech and English

Client: A global provider of HR, payroll, and workforce management solutions, supporting organizations in simplifying employee processes and improving operational efficiency.


Overview:


The Payroll Specialist independently manages end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery in line with client requirements, defined standards, and applicable legislation. The position holder performs payroll-related activities, including data validation, payroll processing, payslip interpretation, reporting, statutory requirements, and responding to payroll-related queries from clients and employees.


The role also focuses on monitoring service performance, managing workflow queues, supporting compliance controls, coordinating system maintenance and technical issue resolution, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. The Payroll Specialist ensures the confidentiality and accuracy of sensitive employee data, maintains up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and procedures, collaborates with internal teams and third parties, and contributes to knowledge sharing, root cause analysis, and project activities.


Responsibilities:


  • Independently process payroll from end to end according the defined standards and client requirements including all associated payroll tasks
  • Monitor and manage ticket queues using the appropriate BI tools to ensure tickets are handled per the defined timelines and do not exceed expected thresholds
  • Ability to utilize the hrX suite of tools as it relates to payroll processing and all associated activities
  • Be able to understand and interpret a payslip
  • Be able to understand and follow the payroll calendar
  • Identify deviations from the standard scope of service and act accordingly including the identification and support of change request opportunities
  • Ability to recognize and deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential information
  • Produce and understand standard and client specific payroll reports including statutory year end reporting needs
  • Review and validate data for accuracy and completeness and initiates corrections per the defined standards
  • Answer payroll related questions and requests
  • Support and execute SOC1 Controls
  • Maintain and apply defined work instructions (DWIs)
  • Perform Transactions with Third parties
  • Provide clear knowledge transfers to peers
  • Support the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process
  • Support and manage system maintenance testing
  • Support technical issue coordination and resolution
  • Maintains current knowledge of legislation requirements; system updates, changes and overall payroll procedures
  • Participates in projects and activities as needed and assigned


Expectations:


  • 2-3 years relevant experience administering Payroll or Health & Welfare/Benefits in an HR consulting, HR Outsourcing or Corporate environment.
  • Understanding of Payroll legislation, compliance and working practices in Czech republic
  • HRIS knowledge: Workday, SAP, or PeopleSoft knowledge preferred
  • Fluency in English and Czech
  • Experience working with HR and payroll data
