Position: Fullstack engineer (Tech Lead)

Location: Hybrid (Remote with regular in-office days in Tower Hill, London, UK)

Role Overview: We are seeking a Tech Lead who will be instrumental in driving the technical strategy and execution at Dama Health. You will work closely with the founding team to architect, develop, and deploy robust healthcare solutions. Your focus will be on scaling our technology, building a world-class product, and ensuring our products are reliable, secure, and easy to use.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Define and implement the technical roadmap in line with the company's strategic objectives.
• Architecture & Development: Oversee system architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Hands-on Coding: You will be the primary contributor to core code development using our stack (Typescript, Next.js, Python, FastAPI, Postgres, Prisma, AWS Fargate).
• Product Collaboration: Work closely with the founders to determine product direction.
• DevOps & Cloud Management: Ensure smooth deployment and operation of our systems, utilizing AWS Fargate, ECS, ECR for scalable infrastructure.
• Security & Compliance: Establish and maintain best practices for data security and compliance, crucial for healthcare technology. We use Vanta to monitor our compliance with HIPAA; you will be responsible for maintaining our compliance and the supporting documentation.

• Frontend: Typescript, React, Next.js, Tailwind
• Backend: Python, FastAPI, Next.js
• Database: Postgres, Prisma
• Infrastructure: AWS Fargate, AWS RDS, AWS ECR, AWS ECS, AWS Lambda, AWS Transfer, AWS S3
• Integrations: Chromatic for visual testing, PostHog for analytics, Clerk for authentication, Sonarcloud for code quality checking, Synk for Security Vulnerabilities

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of our tech stack: Typescript, Next.js, Python, FastAPI, Postgres, Prisma, and AWS. You will be expected to hit the ground running and be able to maintain and build out new features as soon as possible.
• Product Mindset: Ability to balance technical excellence with business needs, adapting quickly with an agile mindset and a passion for delivering impactful healthcare solutions.
• Team player: Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, capable of explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Independent Contributor: Able to work well independently without supervision. You'll need to take the initiative, make decisions and propose a course of action.
• Problem Solving: A strategic thinker who can navigate ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and has a talent for developing innovative solutions to complex challenges. It won't be easy. But it will be a lot of fun.

Bonus points:

• Previous experience in health tech or working with healthcare data.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Experience scaling applications and handling rapid growth phases.
• Interest and skills in AI and data science.
