Cloud Engineer (Multiple Positions) | Canberra / Hybrid / Remote | Australian Citizens | Contract

Job Description :

The Department is seeking to engage experienced Cloud Engineers that will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and securing cloud infrastructure, resolving issues, ensuring high availability, implementing disaster recovery plans, designing scalable solutions and collaborating on cloud architecture and migration strategies.

Key responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Maintain and monitor cloud infrastructure for high availability, reliability,

and performance

• Proactively resolve issues, perform maintenance, and ensure security

compliance

• Implement access controls, encryption, backups, and disaster recovery plans

Key Attributes

• Expertise in current tools, methods and technologies used within their domain of expertise while also having the ability to adapt to new technology and ensure they impart this knowledge to others

• Capacity to think strategically, develop plans and take initiative to resolve

issues to enhance the achievement of business level outcomes

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• High-level organisational skills, be self-driven and possess initiative, with the ability to influence and shape behaviours to achieve tasks and business objectives.

• Capacity to align technical strategies with business goals and troubleshoot complex technical challenges

• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a technical team, ensuring efficient

operations and capability growth

• Demonstrated ability at creating technical documentation for technical

maintenance and training purposes

Required Skills and Experience :

• Minimum three years of Cloud experience involving design, deployment,

configuration and optimisation

• Several years of experience with IaaS and PaaS solutions

• Experience in the design and operation of medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure, databases and application systems

• Experience in IaC development such as Terraform, Ansible ,AWS CDK, Azure ARM, and Kubernetes

• Experience scripting with Perl, Python and PowerShell

• Proficient with GIT to perform source code management

• Competence in a wide range of IT skills including backups, storage, systems administration, data protection, information security and CI/CD tooling

• Enthusiastic learner with the ability to teach and mentor teammates

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen

attention to detail
