VicRoads RLS, founded in August 2022 by a consortium of Aware Super, Australian Retirement Trust, Macquarie Asset Management, and the Victorian State Government, operates under a long term concession deed issued by the State Government. VicRoads is hiring a Lead Product Designer to join our Product and Experience team, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how Victorians interact with our services. What You'll Do:

1. Lead Product Design Strategy
   Define and implement comprehensive design plans that align with organisational priorities and deliver measurable outcomes. Drive the development of intuitive, accessible, and scalable solutions that balance customer needs with business goals.
2. Design for Business Impact
   Align design initiatives with organisational objectives to drive measurable business outcomes, leveraging market insights and optimising for ROI. Deliver solutions that enhance customer engagement, retention, and revenue growth.
3. Empower Design Teams
   Guide design practitioners to align their work with organisational goals, fostering growth, collaboration, and high performance. Create a supportive environment that empowers teams to deliver exceptional, impactful outcomes.
4. Deliver Evidence-Based Solutions
   Leverage research and data to shape actionable insights, optimising designs to meet customer behaviours and market demands. Champion iterative user testing and data analysis to refine designs, ensuring they deliver measurable impact.
5. Collaborate with Stakeholders
   Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams through clear communication and shared goals. Facilitate workshops and discussions to co-create and align on impactful design strategies.
6. Set Standards and Evolve Frameworks
   Maintain and enhance design systems, ensuring consistency, scalability, and accessibility across platforms. Develop reusable frameworks that enable adaptability while driving efficiency.
7. Apply Advanced Methodologies
   Blend design thinking, human-centred design, and Lean UX to craft tailored solutions for complex challenges. Continuously innovate by evolving design practices to address multifaceted problems with strategic precision.
   

Who You Are:

• 8+ years of combined product design and leadership experience, with a proven track record of guiding multidisciplinary teams and delivering impactful outcomes.
• Self-Directed and Accountable. You take ownership of tasks and outcomes, demonstrating initiative and a commitment to delivering high-quality results while holding yourself accountable for decisions and actions.
• Expert facilitator, adept at leading workshops, design sprints, and collaborative sessions to align teams, surface insights, and drive strategic outcomes.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Deep expertise in research-driven, user-centred design methodologies, seamlessly integrating insights into every stage of the design lifecycle.
• Thrives in dynamic, evolving environments, bringing a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
