About the Role
The Lead Software Developer will be instrumental in driving the company’s technical evolution, leading the migration of legacy Java applications to a modern microservices environment using Kubernetes. The role combines hands-on development responsibilities with technical leadership and architectural oversight, making it a key contributor to the organization’s future success.
Key Responsibilities
- Migration Leadership: Lead the migration of existing Java applications to a microservices architecture, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Technical Leadership: Guide and mentor the development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
- Architectural Oversight: Design and implement robust, secure, and scalable system architectures.
- Hands-On Development: Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code, while actively participating in code reviews and pair programming.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, designers, and DevOps engineers to deliver innovative solutions aligned with business goals.
- Innovation and Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, introducing new tools, technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
- Java Expertise: Extensive experience with Java and related frameworks, such as Spring Boot.
- Microservices Proficiency: Deep understanding of microservices architecture and experience deploying applications on Kubernetes.
- Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead technical teams, mentor developers, and drive collaborative outcomes.
- Architectural Knowledge: Strong grasp of software architecture principles, including distributed systems and design patterns.
- DevOps Acumen: Familiarity with tools and practices such as Docker, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
