Skip continually looks for high performers who are excited to join our entrepreneurial team to revolutionize food ordering and the delivery industry. We are a technology and logistics company that partners with restaurants across North America to provide access to top restaurants. Skip simplifies this process and provides an exceptional experience to users by leveraging leading-edge technology and an extensive courier network.

Location: Canada Fully Remote

Reporting to: Technology Manager

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, design patterns, testing, and debugging
• Deep knowledge of Java 17/21, lambdas, and streaming functionality
• Experience with Docker containers, microservices, serverless development, cloud computing, and AWS services (EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Familiarity with message brokers (Amazon SQS/SNS) and system logging/monitoring tools like DataDog and CloudWatch
• Understanding of continuous delivery, deployment, integration, CI/CD best practices, and tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL), data persistence, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), and version control (Git)

• Responsible for product functionality, maintaining and introducing new services
• Identify innovative solutions with minimal guidance and contribute to process improvements
• Work in a team, providing mentorship to other team members
• Adhere to and contribute to established patterns, processes, and best practices
• Conduct unit tests, code reviews, and ensure high-quality pull requests
