We are looking for Tech Leaders to work remotely from Portugal or Spain.


Project Overview:

The team is primarily focused on transforming the way we manage and collect debt while creating intuitive and seamless user journeys. We produce critical data and work closely with third-party services. Now, we are evolving from a data-centric approach to building a highly efficient service-oriented architecture, relying on best engineering practices and a robust microservice infrastructure. Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Tech Lead that will play a pivotal role in transitioning us to a service-oriented architecture, working in a collaborative environment to design, develop, and maintain microservices in an agile, kanban-driven setup. You’ll help define best practices, ensure scalability, and contribute to making the team highly product-oriented.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of new microservices.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to integrate robust data pipelines and ensure efficient data delivery.
  • Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Python and/or TypeScript (Node.js).
  • Implement best practices for coding, testing, and deploying across all stages of the software development lifecycle.
  • Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including Kubernetes, Cloud Functions, and Terraform, to create resilient cloud-based architectures.
  • Use message queues like Kafka or Pub/Sub for managing asynchronous processing.
  • Advocate for and implement strong testing methodologies, including pair programming.
  • Actively contribute to improving the team’s engineering culture, focusing on best practices, reliability, and performance.
  • Participate in kanban processes, ensuring tasks are efficiently managed and completed.


Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves):

  • Programming Languages : Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript (Node.js).
  • Database Knowledge : Solid experience with SQL databases; familiarity with NoSQL or any other RDBS is a plus.
  • Microservices : Proven experience in building, deploying, and maintaining microservices.
  • Cloud : Strong understanding of GCP (Google Cloud Platform), including Kubernetes, Cloud Functions, and Terraform.
  • Message Queues : Experience with Kafka or Google Pub/Sub for distributed messaging.
  • Monitoring : Experience with Datadog or other observability tools.
  • Containers : Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Best Practices : A strong focus on clean code, testing, pair programming, and industry best practices.
  • Agile : Familiarity with kanban processes for task management.
  • Languages: Fluency in english.


Nice-to-Have Skills (Bonus):

  • Frontend : Experience with React for building user interfaces.
  • Data Pipelines : Understanding of data processing and pipeline creation.
  • Cloud Functions : Experience writing and deploying cloud functions.
  • BigQuery : Some experience working with BQ.


Soft Skills:

  • Collaboration : Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Communication : Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Problem Solving : Ability to work independently and solve complex engineering challenges.
  • Mentorship : Poven leadership experience guiding and mentoring engineering teams.
