Back-End Developer NodeJS and/or NestJS

The job description:

We are currently looking for a back-end developer with at least 4+ years in commercial development. The successful candidate will join the back-end development team to lead and support on several projects. You will be second to the team leader and have an enviable position in the company to influence and help shape and mould the technology choices that our team utilise.

You will help drive the evolution of practices and methodologies within our multidisciplinary tech team. The right candidate will have a strong drive to improve both themselves and those around them, balancing processes and freedom to bring out the best work in themselves and the wider team. 

You will have developed strong ideals on development, but also are aware and capable of adjusting those ideals to fit the requirements and needs of different projects. There is a portion of DevOps involved with this role, the split being roughly 70-80% Program Development and 20-30% DevOps Management.

We have a huge drive for Test-Driven development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and Pull Requests, but desire to keep our methodologies and processes agile and appropriate for each project.

The right person for us is someone who has:

• Has NodeJS and/or NestJS experience of at least 4 years, preferably using Typescript.
• Has at least 1 years’ DevOps experience and is interested in staying across these tasks such as writing CI/CD scripts,working with Containerization, or setting up AWS hosting.
• Has worked on the agency side and knows how to handle working on multiple projects in a high-paced environment.
• Is confident in their skills to manage server applications solo.
• Is flexible enough to work in a friendly and collaborative environment with a fun, multidisciplinary team.
• A keen interest in security best practices, both in your code and in the security of the office environment
• Have a keen eye for detail, and the ability to critically analyse their own work
• Enjoy working in a team-friendly and collaborative environment with a fun, multi-disciplinary team
• Have strong problem-solving skills and the resilience to champion their work and ideals
• Has a familiarity with deployment environments and procedures in services such as AWS, Heroku, Docker, or Capistrano.
• Has a "can do", or at least a "would love to give it a go" attitude when it comes to their problem-solving skills and resilience.
• Manage a junior developer prior
• You can show that you've built some killer server-side features in NestJS or in another language. Maybe you wrote a CMS, an image processor, a game or a video streaming platform in NodeJS?
• Experience working with NodeJS/NestJS in a commercial manner and deployed to AWS Lambda
• Worked with Serverless Framework
• Integrated with payment gateway like Stripe
• Experienced working with GraphQL
