Job Title: Mechanical Technical Engineer

Department: Engineering

Reports to: Senior Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:


1.Design and Planning:

  • Assist in the design and planning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems for construction projects.
  • Work closely with architects, electrical engineers, and other team members to integrate mechanical designs into overall project blueprints.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements and constraints for mechanical system installations.

2.System Specifications and Documentation:

  • Prepare detailed technical specifications for mechanical equipment, materials, and systems.
  • Develop, review, and approve design drawings and technical documentation for mechanical installations.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.

3.Installation and Implementation:

  • Oversee the installation of mechanical systems on-site, ensuring they are completed according to design specifications and timelines.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other teams to ensure proper execution of mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the installation process.

4.Testing and Commissioning:

  • Supervise the testing, commissioning, and start-up of mechanical systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Perform system performance evaluations and ensure compliance with the design criteria

5.Quality Assurance and Safety:

  • Ensure that all mechanical installations adhere to safety protocols and meet quality standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections during and after construction to identify any defects, deviations, or potential improvements.
  • Report on any technical issues or challenges during construction and propose solutions.

6.Project Management Support:

  • Collaborate with project managers to create and monitor project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
  • Provide technical support and recommendations for cost optimization and efficient resource management.

7.Maintenance and Post-Construction Support:

  • Offer technical support for the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems once the project is completed.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any mechanical system failures during the warranty period.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks).
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, building codes, and construction processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design and installation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with project management principles.
Experience:
  • More than 10 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, in a construction environment or with relevant construction projects.
  • Experience with large-scale health care, commercial or residential construction projects is a plus.
Working Conditions:
  • Office-based with periodic site visits to construction locations.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • May involve working in varying weather conditions, on construction sites with exposure to noise and machinery.
