Project Technical Manager

Overview

The Project Technical Manager will lead the technical aspects of projects, ensuring all engineering deliverables meet client requirements, industry standards, and project objectives.

The role involves managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, coordinating between various technical departments, and working closely with project managers to ensure successful project execution.

The Project Technical Manager will also ensure technical risks are mitigated and that the project is completed on time and within budget, with a focus on brownfield projects and QatarEnergy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical coordination for engineering activities across all disciplines (Structural, Piping, Process, etc.).
• Ensure that all technical deliverables comply with project specifications, client expectations, and industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle, from design to commissioning.
• Act as the primary technical liaison between the client, engineering teams, and other stakeholders.
• Manage and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and approve technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all deliverables.
• Coordinate design reviews and technical audits, ensuring proper validation and integration of all technical aspects.
• Support the project manager by providing technical input into schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Lead technical meetings with clients, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring alignment of objectives.
• Ensure all technical aspects adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  
  

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preference for Structural, Piping, or Process backgrounds).
  
  

Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills

• Proficiency in engineering and project management software tools is .
  
  

Years Of Experience

• 15 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a Project Technical Manager role or similar position.
  
  

Technical Knowledge

• QatarEnergy & Brownfield Projects: Strong preference for experience with QatarEnergy projects and expertise in handling brownfield projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards.
• Multidisciplinary Coordination: Proven ability to lead and manage technical aspects across multiple disciplines (structural, piping, process, etc.), ensuring seamless collaboration and project execution.
