DevOps Engineer

The Role

Our Utilities sector client has a requirement for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their Cloud Services Team.

In this key role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructures, collaborating closely with development, operations, and security teams to streamline workflows, ensuring smooth and efficient software delivery for their growing business.

As part of the Digital Technology and Information (DTI) group, you'll work at the forefront of technology innovation, supporting strategic goals and enhancing operational efficiency across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of complex cloud solutions across Azure and AWS platforms.
• Automate the software development lifecycle through CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing expert problem-solving expertise.
• Manage and optimise the performance, security, and cost-efficiency of cloud-based services.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure our cloud infrastructure meets business and customer needs.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with the company goal

About You
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience.

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Systems Administration, or a related field.
• Proven expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and automation tools.
• Strong scripting and automation skills to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
• A proactive approach, with the ability to drive continuous improvements and deliver on outcomes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling you to work seamlessly with teams across the organisation.

Desirable

• Certification as an Azure or AWS DevOps Engineer (or similar).
• Experience in the utilities sector, with knowledge of IT/OT challenges and opportunities.
