The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is dedicated to enhancing global peace and security by addressing issues such as drugs, crime, corruption, and terrorism. UNODC supports Member States in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on the interrelationship between sustainable development and the fight against these global challenges. The 2030 Agenda emphasizes the importance of the rule of law, effective justice systems, and health-oriented drug policies as critical enablers of development, urging integrated approaches to crime prevention and drug control. UNODC’s role is to provide meaningful support in advancing these goals through results-based project management.


Coordinate and organize meetings and written deliverables to support UNODC's efforts in strengthening responses to transnational organized crime. Draft correspondence, background papers, prepare presentations, and organize both virtual and in-person meetings. Conduct desk research, design surveys, and produce reports with visualizations on the UN system’s response to transnational organized crime. Act as focal point for field offices, coordinating dialogue and dissemination of information. Assist in coordinating consultants, ensuring adherence to UN editorial standards, and conducting necessary research. Maintain a knowledge management site for coordination purposes. Produce communication products (factsheets, social media content, etc.) on transnational organized crime topics. Liaise with service providers and stakeholders, and undertake other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Master's degree or equivalent in Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Criminology, or other social sciences.


Required Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years in project management, coordinating policy events, and communications
  • Experience working in multicultural teams and adapting to challenging environments
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate inclusively
