The main purpose of this role is to provide leadership through clear direction and management of the Company’s overall business in Norway.The country manager has also the responsibility of driving the business in all product lines, the P&L, health & safety while maintaining high standards of customer relationships.
The Country Manager will manage and lead the Norwegian team, including communication of company objectives and on North Sea strategy. The Country Manager will participate in the Management Committee, the managerial team establishing company objectives and strategy for both sides of the North Sea.
The company has several yard base and inspection facilities across Norway and the role will include the execution of pipe contracts (pipe storage and inspection) and managing subcontractors & their costs while ensuring optimum execution of the contracts is key.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accountable and responsible for the overall management of the Norway facilities and people as a multi functions organisation (pipes and services sales, technical sales, services operations, finance and administration, QHSE legal compliance).
- Manage service subcontractors through the execution of the yard / inspection service contracts. L
- Pursue & accelerate the service and innovation development plan in collaboration with the service product line taking benefit of the high premium standard across the North Sea.
- Establishes sales & visit plans (pipes / services / innovation / Accessories) to achieve forecasts (Sales Demand & S&OP), annual sales target but also cash collection in its sales area ; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products. Key metrics being: (bookings / invoicing / overdue/ stock rotation). Drawing on the support of group functions will be key given the high tech nature of the markets.
- Anticipate & answer to OCTG tenders/RFQs for operators in due time and in compliance with due processes.
- Develop, grow and nurture strategic relationships with key accounts at decision making level.
- Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales target for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing, new products & services (tonnages, sales price levels, product mix, customers portfolio). Key stakeholder of the Sales Demand.
- Identify emerging markets (hunting) and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status that’s within the OCTG product line or through New Energy organization
- Manage, grow and retain team to ensure sustainability and competency of the organization (HR and processes). Cross fertilization with other product lines or with UK sales team. Review processes to have those at the optimum in collaboration with the rest of the team.
- Active participant and contributor to the organisation with the aim of having x1 North Sea across both sides (UK / NO)
- Accountable and responsible for tracking and reporting the status of agreed objectives (budget / invoicing / cash / QHSE / quality / etc) with the Management Team.
- Accountable and responsible for representing the Company in front of local authorities and tax reporting to the Norwegian government.
- Accountable and responsible for overall safety performance and culture.
The last 3 bullet points are Sales oriented and will require a strong working relationship with the Sales Manager.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Educated to Degree Level or equivalent.
- Possess and evidence relevant work experience within the oil & gas industry and managerial experience.
- Have a proven ability to understand and prioritise the needs of the business and to effectively delegate multiple tasks and responsibilities to others, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner to meet departmental/business targets.
- Be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to changing business needs and comfortable communicating with all levels of the organisation.
- Possess excellent communication, organisational, negotiation and interpersonal skills. This role requires an ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation, and externally.
- Be independent, objective, and open when working with customers, external agencies, and sub-contractors.
- Be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently to the standards expected by the Company.
- Be computer literate, and able to use e-mail, Excel and Word to produce management, operational, and financial reports, forecasts and presentations.
- Current and valid driving license is necessary.
