Key duties and responsibilities

The applicant must have knowledge and experience in:

1. managing, delivering and monitoring projects that may have an organisation-wide impact.
2. developing, managing and implementing project plans and schedules in accordance with the agency’s project management framework and consider project interdependencies.
3. collaborate closely and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
4. contribute to project design, governance arrangements and operational integration.
5. ensure project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget.
6. coordinate strategic planning for longer term project initiatives including communication plans.
7. develop staff capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning.
8. provide expert advice and feedback to stakeholders and the agency's executive.
9. research, review and evaluate projects in specific operational or technical areas including Cyber Security
10. report on project outputs to stakeholders and oversee regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
11. prepare and review written material including business cases, plans, reports and executive briefs and corporate documentation
12. undertake budget management, monitor expenditure and oversee procurement and contract management.
13. identify, assess, manage, escalate, report and monitor project risks, issues and benefits, including developing treatment strategies.
14. analyse project performance and coordinate quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
15. support innovation, manage and lead change and significantly contribute to business improvement strategies.
16. develop and manage key stakeholder relationships and expectations to deliver projects.
17. represent the work area or agency at external and cross-agency forums, including conferences and meetings.
18. exercise delegations appropriate to role in accordance with legislation and guidelines.

Essential criteria

1. 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager in an ICT or Cyber Security role

2. Demonstrated experience and ability to run multiple projects in tight timesframes

3. Experience liaising with managed service providers, department staff, third-party vendors and relevant business areas
