Back End Developer

Responsibilities:

1. Design and Develop Backend Systems: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.

2. AWS: Leverage your expertise in AWS services to architect, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions for our applications.

3. Database Management: Develop and optimise database schemas, queries, and data models to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.

4. Code Quality and Testing: Write clean, maintainable code and implement unit tests to ensure the reliability and quality of software components.

5. Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and ensure the scalability of our backend systems.

6. Security: Implement security best practices and measures to safeguard data and protect against security threats.

7. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for the backend systems, APIs, and integration points.

8. Collaboration: Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality features and improvements.

9. Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, sharing your expertise and best practices.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

2. Proven experience as a Backend engineer, with a focus on Java and Spring Boot.

3. Strong expertise in AWS services, including but not limited to AWS Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, and S3.

4. Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).

5. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

6. Familiarity with RESTful API design principles and best practices.

7. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).

8. Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).

9. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

10. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

11. AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified engineer) are a plus.
