About Your Future Role

The position is within the Nexi Fraud Intelligence & Modelling team, located in Milan. The team is a strategic function within Nexi Operations Department with the goal to monitor, model and prevent digital payments frauds for our cardholders, by minimizing the impact on genuine transactions. Using a mixture of expert systems and machine learning, the team is responsible for the algorithms behind the safety of several million cards and merchants, insights and analytics.

Nexi is looking for a professional able to retrieve data from multiple data sources, structured and unstructured, visualize, analyze, model, and present to technical and non-technical stakeholders, to solve fraud related problems. A self-starter with a passion for learning and solving problems, who can integrate quickly in a team of senior fraud professionals.

Your key responsibilities in this role will be:

  • Anticipate fraudulent behaviors through in-depth data analysis, proposing innovative rules and algorithms to prevent future risks.
  • Define and optimize KPIs, generating strategic reports and insights to guide timely, data-driven decisions.
  • Create dynamic visualizations and compelling data narratives, translating complex analyses into clear and strategic insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Design customer segmentation strategies to identify the most vulnerable groups and develop targeted measures to reduce the risk of fraud and phishing attacks.
  • Develop machine learning models to detect emerging fraud patterns, leveraging AWS services to create, train, and deploy models in a scalable and secure manner, ensuring a rapid and accurate response to evolving threats.
  • Integrate and automate analytical and operational processes, utilizing AWS to orchestrate workflows and improve efficiency, reducing response times in fraud management.
  • Act as a strategic bridge with the Data team, defining key requirements to ensure high-quality data and its effective integration.
  • Explore and test new analytical techniques, analyzing scientific papers, and staying constantly updated on the evolution of the anti-fraud landscape to propose innovative and effective solutions.

Qualifications needed to be successful in this role:

  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access) and PowerBI
  • Cloud Environments (AWS, Azure)
  • Versioning tools (Git)
  • Python Programming
  • Knowledge of SAS and SAS Enterprise Guide
